meta-meta store
The “meta-meta: store” is a creative collaboration between me and artist Harrell Fletcher that will be open in WPA space for the next several weeks until the end of the exhibition on November 17. Conceptually, this shop is an exploration into non-monetary forms of exchange designed to support socially-engaged art, using Some People Press (SPP) as a case study. SPP, initiated by Fletcher, is a unique participatory art project that emphasizes autobiographical writing. It's published in collaboration with, and benefits, incarcerated individuals at the Columbia River Correctional Institution in Portland, Oregon. Audience members can acquire items from the store by donating directly to Some People Press or by exchanging credit hours earned from completing specific tasks for SPP, found here.
